KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians now have the opportunity to make suggestions online to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on how to make life better.

They can do so by sending the e-postcard "Pos Kad Hari Malaysia untuk PM" to the prime minister by Oct 15 by logging on to http://www.poskaduntukpm.com.my/ to send their 300-character message in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Chinese and Tamil.

The best message will be published in the Malay Mail.


The messages will be presented to the prime minister in mid-November by the Malaysia Centre for Public Opinion (MACPO), which initiated the project.

Its chairman, Datuk Seri Azman Ujang, said about 50,000 messages were expected to reach Najib from Malaysians here and abroad who want their voices heard.

He said the project had been initiated to appreciate the formation of Malaysia.


"We hope to be the bridge between public opinion and government policies that shape the the nation," he said after launching the project here yesterday.

Azman said receiving such information directly from the public would be useful towards ensuring relevance and acceptance of government policies.

"Through this platform, the government will know what the people need to improve the quality of their lives while developing the nation," he said.


Also present was Karyawan president Datuk Freddie Fernandez, who will get artistes to participate in the project.

Beliau berkata, berdasarkan perangkaan Bahagian Penguatkuasaan Jawi, kegiatan maksiat membabitkan khalwat dan kelakuan tidak senonoh berjaya dikurangkan kira-kira 40 peratus berbanding tahun sebelumnya.


Tanpa mahu mendedahkan jumlah sebenarnya, Che Mat berkata, tindakan penguatkuasaan berterusan yang dijalankan penguat kuasa Jawi berjaya menginsaf dan menyedarkan warga Putrajaya serta pengunjung luar mengenai pentingnya menjaga keharmonian Putrajaya.


“Saya memberi amaran kepada mereka yang mahu melakukan maksiat di Putrajaya supaya melupakan hasrat buruk itu. Penguat kuasa Jawi sentiasa memantau perbuatan tidak berakhlak berdasarkan maklumat dan siasatan dijalankan.


“Tindakan tegas akan diambil tanpa mengambil kira sama ada mereka kakitangan kerajaan atau orang luar, dan yang pasti kita mahu Putrajaya bebas maksiat pada tahun ini,” katanya pada sidang media selepas program Bual Bicara Bersama Pengarah Jawi, di sini, semalam.

Che Mat berkata, penguat kuasa Jawi tidak pernah berkompromi dengan mereka yang melakukan kegiatan tidak sihat itu.


Menurutnya, walaupun ada yang mengugut untuk terjun bangunan ketika ditangkap, ia bukan sesuatu yang boleh melemahkan penguat kuasa Jawi.


Malah, katanya, Jawi akan meneruskan usaha dan pemantauan di beberapa lokasi di Putrajaya yang dikenal pasti lokasi pasangan melakukan maksiat.


“Tindakan dilakukan menjurus kepada kesalahan Seksyen 27 dan 29, Akta Jenayah Syariah Wilayah Persekutuan 1997 iaitu melakukan khalwat dan berkelakuan tidak senonoh di tempat awam.


“Kita bangga apabila mendapati tindakan berterusan penguat kuasa Jawi menunjukkan penurunan jumlah kes kegiatan tidak bermoral di Putrajaya,” katanya.


Pada kesempatan program itu, Che Mat juga melancarkan Program Keselamatan Jalan Raya Jawi sempena Aidilfitri.


Sebanyak 30,000 pelekat diedarkan kepada pengguna jalan raya yang mengingatkan warga Putrajaya supaya memandu berhati-hati sepanjang cuti Aidilfitri bagi mengelak tragedi sedih.

I refer to your emails to the Public Complaints Bureau, Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board and to our Chief Executive Officer Encik Mohd Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal regarding our website. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your feedback.

I am pleased to inform you that the Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat has an official website. The address for the website is www.ltc.gov.my. You can also use www.spad.gov.my which will also bring you to the website. The website contains our official logo which our Commission Members approved recently.

As for searching our website on the Internet, our website is still very new and it will take some time before the search engines register our URL.

In the website under the “Contact Us” page, you will be able to find our feedback and enquiries form. Besides the enquiries@spad.gov.my which is given on the same page, you can also send us any feedback on public transport to us using transformpt@spad.gov.my. Both these email addresses are monitored continuously.

We plan to embark on a publicity campaign once the date of effect of the Land Public Transport Act 2010 is determined. This Act will provide us with the powers to perform our functions. Until the Act comes into effect, the existing agencies such as the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board and Department of Railways are still functioning as normal.
