Deputy secretary-general Harjeet Singh said: "There is no one strategy that could curb this problem effectively and there is no significant correlation between the setting up of Sekolah Harapan and baby-dumping cases.
"Addressing the issue of baby-dumping, requires multi-sectoral synergy comprising the collaboration and cooperation of various sectors of society, including religious leaders, the community and most importantly, the parents," she said.
"They have to play a pivotal role in ensuring their children will not be exposed to situations that involve immoral activities, particulary sexual activities."
